      อ่อนจนถึงสีแดงเข้มมีการศึกษาทางด้านเภสัชวิทยาที่เกี่ยวกับผักพลูคาวและมีการรายงานการวิจัยฤทธิ์ทางเภสัชวิทยา

      ของผักพลูคาวว่า

               1. มีฤทธิ์ในการทำลายเซลล์มะเร็ง

               2. มีฤทธิ์ในการยับยั้งการเจริญเติบโตของเซลล์มะเร็งเม็ดเลือดขาว รักษามะเร็ง มีฤทธิ์ในการต้านเชื้อไวรัสและแบคทีเรีย

                   และป้องกันรักษาอาการของโรคที่เกิดจากไวรัสในไก่ ลดไข้ และไข้หวัดใหญ่

               3. กระตุ้นการแบ่งตัวของเซลล์เม็ดเลือดขาวรักษาภาวะภูมิแพ้ ภูมิไวเกิน หอบหืด ภูมิคุ้มกันบกพร่อง ผู้ป่วยเอดส์ ผู้ป่วยมะเร็ง

                   Researchers have discovered that the red color on the leaves of Khowtong has the medicinal chemical,

      healthy bacteria,microorganisms and a type of lactobacillus which enhances the body's immune system and

      inhibits the growth of cancerous cells. It is an anti - carcinoma and helps restrain the growth of cancer cells after

      radiation treatment, and operations on cancer of the breast,uterus, intestines, lungs, etc.

                   The Khowtong herb can be extracted and made into a drink which has received registration with the

      government as a healthsupplement to be used in conjunction with medical radiation treatments. It helps stimulate
